The 4th

We decided at the last minute yesterday to drive to Oxnard and watch the fireworks from the beach. We had originally planned to grill hot dogs at the park in Santa Clarita. Since we couldn't cook our hot dogs on the beach, we picked up some Italian takeout. I love the look on Bella's face when she saw some fireworks go off right behind us. Fireworks are illegal on the beach, but there were a handful of people dodging the police and setting some off around us. The beach houses were all lit up. They were so beautiful. Anthony wondered when we were going to buy one! I wish, Little Buddy.

This is one that exploded right over our heads.
We didn't have the best view of the city fireworks, but it was still a good show. It gets really cold at the beach after the sun goes down so we were all huddled together. We agreed that it was the first time we've ever been cold on the 4th of July!

Al's brother used to live in Oxnard. You could see the beach from their apartment. Nice! We found it odd that it was so cool there in the summer. You wouldn't think that of California.

Annie! So good to read your blog! I like this one because we lived in Port Hueneme and our church is in Oxnard. (The one Bob was pastoring when we were missionaries in CA). It's fun to see you where I used to hang out. :-) Miss your face!
